This is a Thoroughbred Reader. Remind your child to take the quiz at the end of the week.
In the next week we will be focusing on the following in reading:
Phonics:
r-controlled vowels ar, or, ore
I can read words with r controlled vowels ar, or, ore
Comprehension:
Drawing conclusions
I can draw conclusions based on text I read
Vocabulary:
High frequency words, dictionary entry words
I can learn new high frequency and vocabulary words
I can use dictionary entry words to find words in the dictionary
Fluency:
Decodable text, leveled readers
I can read text on my level
I can decode text
I can reread to improve fluency
We will begin our Geometry unit in Mathematics. This unit is one that most students really enjoy!

Thank you!
Parents & Families,
Thank you for working with us to make sure our Fall Festival was a success! We sold a lot of raffle tickets for the gas card this year. The money from that will go to purchase great resources and other items we need in our classrooms throughout the school year.
Windsor Construction,LLC owned by Larry Smith in Bowling Green donated the $100. gas card and to him we owe a huge thanks!
I also want to thank you for sending items for our Halloween party. As always, the students enjoyed the treats!
I am still in need of volunteers. If you are willing to help out in the classroom listening to students read, helping with AR, working one on one with students, copying, cutting, etc. Just let me know a schedule or day that works for you. I would LOVE to have your help and the students would certainly benefit by having more helping hands!
In the next few weeks we will be studying Settlement and Exploration in Social Studies. If you have any items we could use for art projects, please send them in. We could use feathers, clay, material, beads, leather strips, etc.
