I love teaching! The best part of the school day is when a child gets excited about something they've learned and begins to make connections. The excitement they show and where they take that new knowledge is what makes teaching an adventure every day.

GREAT QUESTIONS FROM PARENTS!

I had a parent to ask " Can my child use more than one spelling word per sentence to shorten the number of sentences she has to write?"

The answer is ABSOLUTELY! - as long as the spelling words are all underlined and the sentences are seven-up sentences.

What is a seven-up sentence?

A seven-up sentence is a sentence with seven or more words. The reason I want my students to write seven-up sentences is that it makes their sentences better. The student adds more detail to their writing and it makes students more creative writers.
